Crispy Baked Orange Kissed Chicken Wings tossed in a sweet and tangy DIY sauce. Orange juice and zest, soy sauce, and plenty of garlic coat these wings with fabulous flavor. Baking the wings at high heat until golden brown skin and sautéed with loads of fresh garlic, orange juice, red chili flakes and honey tastes great! This recipe is great. I've made this several times and found this is the best wings recipe without frying. Just try ones and next time a double batch for sure.
Ingredients :-
For Marinade :-
½ kg / 1.1 lb. Chicken Wings (drumettes, washed properly & pat-dry)
1 tsp. Black Pepper Powder
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
2 tsp. Balsamic Vinegar
½ Orange (Fresh Juice extracted)
2 tsp. Olive Oil/Vegetable Oil
For Sauce :-
20 g. Butter (salted)
8-10 Garlic Cloves (minced)
½ cup/120 ml. Fresh Orange Juice
1 tsp. Red Chili Flakes
½ tbsp. Red Chili Sauce
2 tsp. Honey
1 tsp. Orange Zest (freshly grated)
Method :-
For Marinating :-
In a large bowl add chicken wings along with all the ingredients mentioned under the marination list one by one. Mix well until all the chicken wings gets well coated with the marinade mix
Cover it & keep in refrigerator for minimum 3 hrs/overnight for best results
For Baking :-
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C)
Take out the wings from the refrigerator, remove the cling film/cover, and with the help of a tong/fork/hands, toss again
Line a baking tray with a wired rack and place the marinated wings on the rack. Brush the wings with the remaining marinade mix
Transfer the baking tray to OTG and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. After 20 mins, flip the wings & baste with the remaining marinade and continue to cook until golden on the outside and no longer pink in the center, about 25 more minutes
Once the chicken wings gets cooked properly, take out from the oven & set aside
For Sauce :-
Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add minced garlic to the pan and stir for 1-2 mins on medium flame
Next add fresh orange juice + red chili flakes + red chili sauce to the pan and mix well
Next, add honey to the pan and let it boil for 2-3 mins on medium flame. Give it a stir & allow it to thickens
Add the baked chicken wings to the pan and toss the chicken wings with the help of tong/spatula until all the wings get well coated with the prepared sauce. Cook for another 3-4 mins on medium flame until sauce gets sticky and all the chicken wings gets evenly coated with the prepared sauce
Stir again and when the orange golden glaze is formed on the chicken wings, switch off the gas
Garnish with some freshly grated Orange Zest and serve hot with the dip of your choice and a chilled drink:)
