Chicken Masala Sausage

Prep Time: 20 mins I Cooking Time: 30-40 mins I Serving: 2-3



Ingredients :-


For boiling Potatoes

3 Potatoes, medium-sized (peeled, washed & cut into quarters)

Water (enough for boiling)

¼ tsp. Salt

For Masala :-

350g Chicken Sausages (cut into 2 inch pieces)

3 tbsp./45 ml Veg/Cooking Oil(divided)

8-10 Garlic Cloves (minced)

1 inch Ginger (grated)

4 Onion, medium-sized (finely chopped)

3 Tomatoes, medium-sized (finely sliced)

2 Green Chillies (chopped) Optional

½ tsp. Red Chilli Powder

½ tsp. Coriander Powder

¼ tsp. Cumin Powder

¼ tsp. Black Pepper Powder

Salt to taste

2 tbsp./30ml Water

½ tbsp. Hot Chilli Sauce(Sriracha)

1 tsp. Sugar

¼ tsp. Garam Masala Powder

1 tbsp. Fresh Coriander(finely chopped)


Method :-


In a large vessel, heat enough water for boiling potatoes. When water starts boiling add salt to the pan


Next add potatoes to the vessel. Cover with lid and let it cook for 10-15 minutes on low flame. After 15 mins remove the lid and with the help of a fork /spoon check whether the potatoes are properly cooked or not


When the potatoes have turned soft and are cooked properly, switch off the gas. With the help of a strainer strain the potatoes and let them cool down


Heat 1 tbsp. of veg oil in a non-stick pan/kadai. Add the boiled potatoes to the pan and sauté for 5-7 mins on low-medium flame. Stir until colour changes to light golden brown


Lower down the flame dish out potatoes on a plate and set aside covered for later use


To the same pan add the remaining. Add garlic + ginger to the pan and stir for 3-4 mins on low-medium flame

Next add chopped onions to the pan/kadai, mix and sauté for 5-7 mins on low-medium flame. Stir until colour changes to light golden brown


Next add tomatoes + green chillies to the pan/kadai and cook for 3-4 mins on low-medium flame until tomatoes turn soft


Next add red chilli powder + coriander powder + cumin powder + black pepper powder + salt to the pan. Mix well and cook until oil separates


Add the sautéed potatoes to the pan/kadai and mix well with the masala. Add 2 tbsp. of water and cook for another 3-4 mins on low-medium flame


Add chicken sausages + hot chilli sauce + sugar + garam masala powder to the pan/kadai and mix well. Stir for 2-3 mins on low medium flame and switch off the gas.

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve hot
