Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry is easy to make by stir-frying chicken pieces with fresh broccoli in a savory soy-garlic sauce. This simple weeknight stir-fry is comforting and satisfying. Serve with rice for a healthy and easy dinner on the table in 30 minutes!
Ingredients :-
For Marination :-
½ kg Chicken Breasts (washed well, pat dry & cut into thin slices)
1.5 tbsp. Corn Starch/Potato Starch 1 tbsp. Shaoxing/Cooking Wine 1 tbsp. Soy Sauce 1 tsp. Sesame Oil Salt to taste 1 tsp. Black Pepper Powder
For Stir Fry :-
4-5 Spring Onions (cut diagonally to 3 inch pieces) 12 - 15 Broccoli Florets (cut into half) 2.5 tbsp. Veg Oil (divided) 7-8 Garlic Cloves (finely chopped) 1 Onion, med size (quartered & separated)
Salt to taste ¼ tsp. Black Pepper Powder 2 tbsp. Hoisin Sauce 1 tbsp. Hot Chili Sauce (Sriracha)
1 tsp. Toasted White Sesame Seeds
Method :-
For Stir Fry :-
Place the chicken breast on the chopping board and cut diagonally to make thin slices of the chicken
Once done, transfer the thin chicken slices to a large bowl and add cornstarch/potato starch + shaoxing/cooking wine + soy sauce + sesame oil + salt + black pepper powder to the bowl. Mix well until all the chicken pieces are well coated and set aside for 30 mins
Heat 1.5 tbsp of veg oil in a non-stick pan. Add the marinated chicken pieces to the pan and cook for 1-2 mins on low medium flame. Flip to cook the other side for another 1-2 mins. Once turn golden brown on outside, dish out the chicken pieces on a plate and set aside (covered)
Add the remaining 1 tbsp of veg oil in the same pan. Next, add garlic + onions to the pan and stir for 1-2 mins on medium flame. Stir in intervals
Next add broccoli florets to the pan and sauté for another 1-2 mins. Add salt + black pepper powder to the pan and stir until broccoli starts turning soft
Next, add the sauteed chicken pieces + hoisin sauce + sriracha sauce + green onions to the pan. Mix well and stir fry for 1-2 mins on medium flame and switch off the gas.
Transfer to the serving bowl and garnish with chopped spring onions and toasted sesame seeds
Time to Taste :)
Serve over hot steamed rice and a nice chilled drink of your choice
